Welcome to the Western Dressage Association® of America

The journey of the horse in America has been a long one.  In the sixteenth century, the horse carried Spanish conquistadors from Mexico into the American Southwest, returning to a land it had left many ages before.  The horse carried Lewis and Clark and their Corps of Discovery along the Missouri River, across the great plains of Montana and over the Rocky Mountains to the Pacific shore, mapping a region so vast its frontier seemed without end. Bearing their burdens and their sorrows, the horse carried Native Americans as they rode their Trail of Tears to reservation lands in Oklahoma; and it was the horse that laid down its bones for American Pioneers in the desolate sands of the Humboldt Sink, far from a promised place in California whose sweet grass it would never taste.

HorseShow.com, the innovative online horse show site, announces its partnership with the
Western Dressage Association® of America (WDAA), marking the first official joint venture
between HorseShow.com and an existing equestrian organization.

The mission of the Western Dressage Association® is to honor the horse and to value the partnership it has provided us on our American journey.  Its mission is to provide a model of training and horsemanship which optimizes this partnership for the benefit of both horse and rider.  Its mission is to celebrate the American West where all these things came to pass.
