WDAA supports the Oklahoma Relief Fund and you can too!

oklahoma-relief2The members and friends of the Western Dressage Association® of America (WDAA) have expressed sadness at the great devastation and lost experience by the people of Moore, Oklahoma.

Many have asked… “How can I help?”

The WDAA chose to contribute a financial donation via an established, trustworthy fund. WDAA Alliance Partner, the American Morgan Horse Association, and the American Morgan Horse Educational Charitable Trust have established a fund to assist with the relief and recovery efforts related to the tornado destruction.  Monetary donations will be directed to specific organizations in the Moore, Oklahoma area and the American Red Cross.

Your thoughts and prayers also carry great value in this time of need and loss. Social media channels, like Facebook, allow each of us to send messages of condolence and hope to those people whose lives have been so dramatically changed. Each comments lets them know someone cares.

The people of Oklahoma are tough and strong. They are also very open and welcoming as the WDAA has experienced during our annual convention and via our wonderful Oklahoma Affiliate. We are humbled by of the kindness demonstrated by so many in Oklahoma and throughout the country.

We are proud to contribute to the relief and recovery efforts, to send messages of hope
and to bear witness to the spirit that is “Oklahoma Strong”!

  • Thank you all so much for your kindness and consideration. Even though none of our board or membership was affected, that we are aware of, it still makes me proud to be affiliated with an organization that would take the time and make the effort to offer a donation that will be of help to so many that suffered the extensive losses they have and especially the people who we all know, sadly, are also dealing with the loss of their beloved pets (read, “family”), horses (also family members, as we well know), and livestock on top of their homes and their lives. We consider them part of our “family” particularly in their time of need. Your support is very much appreciated, and it is an honor to be a small part of the Western Dressage Association of America.
