McDermott competes at world championship show

The Western Dressage Association® of America congratulates Kendra McDermott of Skiatook, Okla.

McDermott won a reserve world championship, as well as four top-10 finishes, at the 2017 Western Dressage World Championship Show, held Sept. 28-Oct. 1 at the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Okla. She was riding the Trakehner gelding Valley Boy, owned by Camille Fuller of Sperry, Okla.

The fifth annual Western Dressage World Show had more than 800 rides in a long weekend filled with exhibitor parties, fun costume freestyle competitions and stall and golf-cart decorating contests. The show drew exhibitors from 29 states from coast to coast, five Canadian provinces and New Zealand. Nearly 40 horse breeds were represented as well, making this a truly inclusive sport that is welcoming to all types of horses and both beginner and expert riders alike.
