Cruzan repeats as champion

North Port rider wins world titles in dressage

Last year, Melissa Cruzan attended the Western Dressage World Championship Show in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, as a rookie. The hope of the 14-year-old North Port resident was appropriately modest.

Return home with a ribbon. Melissa accomplished that, and a whole lot more. Riding her horse Hug Me Hotrod in the intro and basic divisions earned Melissa two junior class (14-18) world titles. She was the overall points champion and finished the top scoring Florida rider.
