International Equestrian Organization to add Western Dressage in 2013

Thanks to Montie Eagle for a well attended & informative Western Dressage demo at the July International Equestrian Organization show. The board is continuing to research western dressage & hope to provide two western dressage classes for the 2013 IEO show season.

My mare is a 21 year old QH I bought from a friend over 6 years ago. You can read a story about Mary and my horse Joanie on my web page there is a button specifically for that.

Montie Eagle gave a short lecture on Western Dressage followed by a demonstration ride at the July schooling show. Western Dressage riders perform USEF-approved dressage  tests in western tack and attire.  There is a lot of interest in this new discipline, and some dressage shows are starting to offer Western Dressage classes.  The Western Dressage Association of America (WDAA) is organizing body for this new discipline.  There are affiliated state chapters in several  states including a pending chapter in Pennsylvania.

If you wish to be more informed about the Western Dressage movement, we do have a private Social Corral network where members of the Western Dressage Association® of America can interact, discuss various topics, conceive new ideas and generally share all things Western Dressage, including people who are instructors, clinicians and even judges. If you wish to participate in this community I would highly recommend you join the Western Dressage Association® of America for a small donation of $25 and then you will have access to JOIN the Social Corral.

Now is the time to get in the action and help us to further this wonderful movement. You can sign-up for WDAA Membership here!
