Kathy Newcomb – Membership, Show & Awards Programs

caseyej2Kathy Newcomb hails from Nathalie, VA. Working as a scribe for a Western Dressage judge earlier this year, she was impressed by the enthusiasm and dedication of the WDAA – so she has now joined the staff and handles our membership and points programs. She is a pivotal part of keeping the WDAA moving and organized! She says; President Ellen DiBella is such a strong and dedicated cheerleader for Western Dressage, it is impossible to not get caught up in her enthusiasm and her love for it.” Kathy is enthused to watch this relatively new sport grow and bring in new people to grow with it.

Kathy owns six horses ranging from 5 to 29 years of age and 3 Pembroke Welsh corgis; Squeak (the mom) and her two kids, Dallas and Stella the jumpin’ bean. Kathy loves carriage and driving competitions, but all of her six horses are retired at this time. She says; “if I ever get another young driving horse, all bets are off!” When she’s not keeping the WDAA organized and members happy, she stays busy with Medical writing and editorial work.

Weird but true fact about Kathy? “I once jumped a 4.5-foot wire fence (myself, not with a horse)! Oh my! Those were the days!”
