The WDA of Florida Announces 1st Annual Championship Show

WDAFLChampionship2015aThe Western Dressage Association of Florida (WDAFL) is one of the most progressive of the state affiliates of the Western Dressage Association of America (WDAA). By bringing classical dressage principles to the western horse and rider, WDAFL membership has grown tremendously while led by a board of dedicated and diverse directors. The WDAFL offers educational and competitive outlets for its members, neighboring Affiliates and western dressage enthusiasts across the country.

Open to all levels of riders and breeds of horses, the WDAFL offers many benefits including hosting an informational website with online video library, regional meet and greets, seminars, competitions and year end awards programs. This fall WDAFL boasts two of its major events, the third Discover Western Dressage Symposium which sanctions professionals in order to institute a referral program for its members and the 1st Annual WDAFL Championships.

The highly anticipated 2015 WDAFL Championships is November 14-15 at The Grand Oaks Resort in Weirsdale. A weekend comprised of comradery, fun and competitive spirit is open to all horse lovers. Beginning Friday afternoon, all are welcome to enjoy riding the beautiful Grand Oaks acres. Saturday will host a schooling show and a slate of seminars and demonstrations by top WDAFL Sanctioned Professionals in preparation for the Sunday United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) Western Dressage Show where the first WDAFL Champions will be crowned.

Whether a WDAFL member or a horseman in search of greater knowledge, the Championship weekend will offer something for everyone. With vendors open for shopping, live demonstrations including musical freestyle and gaited western dressage, musical entertainment performed by several different breeds, an exhibitor’s party and noteworthy competitors judged by nationally rated officials, riders and their supporters of all ages and background are welcome to attend as competitors or spectators.

As a nonprofit organization the WDAFL operates on the support of local and regional individuals and companies.
